Go Green! Plumbing

Recently, green plumbing has become a very popular topic. Green Plumbing is essentially plumbing that uses less energy, less water, and less chemicals for a better environment. Burns Plumbing is dedicated to informing their clients about ways they can go green in their own residential or commercial space.

Go Green Yourself!

  • Never let the water run more than needed
  • Incorporate these plumbing fixtures: high efficient toilets, low flow/hands-free faucets and shower heads, tankless and solar water heaters
  • Hot water recirculating system
  • Garbage disposal
  • Waterless urinals for commercial spaces

Facts:

If everyone in the USA would take part in green plumbing innovations, it is estimated that we could prevent 91 million tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere every year.

On average, a family of 4 that upgrades to a low-flow toilet from a 5-gallon toilet would save 13,392 gallons of water per year.

On average, a tankless water heater can save up to 35% off of heating costs if installed correctly.

Exciting news! Burns Plumbing will be featured on "Built to Last TV" as part of a Green Home television series.

The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters' (CRCC) Labor & Management Committee is spearheading "The Green Home," a state-of-the-art construction project in Lemont, IL. "The Green Home" is an environmentally friendly, energy-efficient home designed for modern comfort and convenience, yet built to challenge the natural elements. Factor in cost-saving, innovative products and the CRCC is raising the bar on construction.

Season 2 began shooting in 2011 to air in late 2012 or early 2013.
